LGBTQ+ History Month

Active Minds coaches and staff have been rocking our Stonewall rainbow laces to spark discussion around LGBTQ+ History month this February, to raise awareness and break down barriers to the LGBTQ+ community accessing sport and activity.

Quote from our yoga teacher: “ I came to MiC’s LGBTQ+ forum too, to show everyone that they’re most welcome to join my online or face to face yoga group”

Our New Martial Arts Group

Here are some photo’s from Active Minds new Martial Arts Group provided by VM Academy.

The person doing a headstand is one of our lovely coaches, Katie, from VM Academy, who is just amazing and inspirational, taking us at our own pace. She loves how determined we are as a group!

Quote from one of our members: “It just makes your day, helps your wellbeing being in a group of like-minded people. Physically, it’s great, it’s made me able to get out more and feel fitter and healthier. Mentally fit and physically fit, that’s what the group helps with.”

Wimbledon Trip – July 2022

Our Active Minds team received tickets to attend Wimbledon with some of our clients to enjoy a day of tennis, strawberries and cream and sunshine.

Our clients thoroughly enjoyed the day!

“This is a dream come true, bucket list stuff”

“I can’t believe after all the years of seeing this hill on the TV, I’m sitting here in this nice weather!”

“Thanks ever so much for the incredible Wimbledon experience! We all had such a marvellous time. We are so grateful for the opportunity”

We would like to thank the Dan Maskell Tennis Trust who pass these tickets on to us and fund our tennis sessions, and also our thanks to Wimbledon Foundation who provided the tickets in the first place.
