CLOSED – Mental Health Awareness Trainer (Sport & Leisure)

Sport and Physical Activity aid recovery, stop isolation and improve wellbeing but often people with mental health problems can experience stigma or misunderstood when they want to participate.

We are aiming to help improve the situation in Croydon through the next phase of the Get Set to Go programme we are delivering. It entails providing training to local Sport’s providers on mental health awareness.

The idea is that if we can get more coaches, instructors, leisure centre staff and sports clubs to understand mental health then the easier it will be for people who have a mental health problems to feel understood and feel more comfortable participating.

So we are looking for candidates to ideally lead or support these training courses that we plan to run throughout 2016

If you are interested then please be aware that to be a recognised trainer you will need to attend a ‘train the trainer’ workshop on 28th January at our office in South Croydon.
